Since the very first start of the development of the Lowpad, our goal was to fulfill a key role in our client’s processes. It’s great to see how the Lowpad improves processes. For example, at KWS, Einbeck Germany.
KWS is one of the world’s leading plant breeding companies. It focuses on plant breeding, and the production and sale of seed for corn, sugar beet, cereals, potato, rapeseed, sunflowers and vegetables. More than 5.500 employees represent KWS in more than 70 countries.
At KWS’ location in Einbeck (Germany), they were looking for an automated transportsystem for the movement of heavy containers. KWS looked at quite a number of mobile robot manufacturers and selected the Lowpad because of its unique features. Especially the low height of the Lowpad was very much a deciding factor. The Lowpads at KWS’ glasshouse facility takes over transport tasks which humans were doing before. The result: containers can be moved fully automatic, faster, safer and the available space within the glasshouse is allocated much more efficiently.
