Lowpad is currently deploying large-scale automation projects with fleets exceeding 100 autonomous vehicles at major distribution centres in Europe. These projects demonstrate how flexible, scalable automation can significantly improve productivity and operational resilience in retail logistics.

To support our continued expansion in the UK market, we are looking for a highly experienced Business Development Manager with a strong network and a proven track record in warehouse automation.

Your role

As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding Lowpad's footprint within the UK retail warehousing sector. You will focus on developing strategic opportunities with large retail distribution organisations and logistics operators, working closely with senior stakeholders responsible for warehouse operations and automation strategy.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and developing new opportunities within retail distribution and large-scale warehouse operations
  • Building strong relationships with the Decision-Making Unit (DMU) including Operations Directors, Supply Chain Directors, Automation Managers, and Engineering leaders
  • Engaging customers in consultative discussions about warehouse productivity, automation strategy, and operational optimisation
  • Positioning Lowpad as a strategic automation partner rather than a hardware supplier
  • Collaborating closely with internal engineering, simulation, and solution design teams
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities within the UK market

The Business Development Manager will work closely with our Sales Managers in a highly collaborative sales process. The primary focus of the role is to continuously build and develop a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, working together with the Sales Managers to convert these opportunities into successful automation projects.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who combines deep industry knowledge, strong commercial skills, and an existing network within warehouse automation.

The ideal candidate has:

  • A proven track record in warehouse automation or intralogistics solution sales
  • Strong access to decision makers in UK retail distribution and large warehouse operations
  • Experience with complex automation projects and long enterprise sales cycles
  • A consultative approach to selling solutions rather than individual products
  •  A strong understanding of warehouse processes such as case picking, replenishment, inbound handling, and order fulfilment
  • The ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels within customer organisations
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to open new strategic accounts
